I live and work in Edinburgh. I am currently enrolled in an MSc in Data Science at the University of Edinburgh for the 2026-2027 academic year. I studied Geology and Petroleum Geology at the University of Aberdeen, graduating with First Class Honours. I stayed on as a PhD candidate under Adrian Hartley and John Howell, researching geological modelling from drone-based photogrammetry - before deciding to leave academia to work with technology.
Since then Iβve worked across product, innovation, and ventures in AI, crypto, and distributed ledger technology. At Monolith, I connected DeFi markets to consumer card wallets. Universal (formerly Alongside Finance) followed, where I partnered with a leading ratings provider to deliver an early on-chain index-based investment product. I then helped lead Copper.coβs Circle integration, which enabled US-dollar funds to move directly into USDC for its prime-brokerage business. At Nethermind, I incubated new ideas and helped run its venture studio.
Currently I work with the Asian Development Bank as a consultant on deep technology and innovation, including AI and machine learning, quantum technologies, digital assets, blockchain, and geospatial systems, in its Digital Innovation Sandbox. My work includes tokenisation initiatives with international development institutions. Iβm also an advisor to the Centre of Excellence for Trust, and a visiting researcher at the Blockpass ID Lab at Edinburgh Napier University.
This blog is a place to think out loud about those things, and whatever else I find interesting.
